Okay, the reasons I infrequently updates this blog is probably that I always find something better to do instead of brainstorming for ideas or exposing my thoughts here.
Regardless, I found a reasons to cut off the umbilical cord from my work, emails and blogs and attend B’estfest 2008. It’s a nicely organized festival, happening every year in Bucharest. It was held last Friday and several artists were scheduled: Alanis Morissette, Apollo 440, UNKLE, Cypress Hill and my personal favorite, Mark Norman.
This guy,
Boy Lamoen was the opening act. Haven’t caught him, but saw him when Mark Norman entered the stage, at 12 o’clock. The dutch guy accompanied Norman throughout the act and even kept up with us, the trance bunch. Really cool guy, sorry I missed your act, dude. It was too early.
This chick represented the kissing booth. I didn’t stick around to see if someone actually kissed her, but she kept puckering them up and people kept refusing her. I’m not a fan of kissing booths myself–who knows where those lips have been–but I appreciated the effort. It was the first time I saw something of this kind here.
Stop the rooock! A bit too aggressive for my taste but the guys really tried their best to deliver a show. Didn’t dance, just enjoyed the show with
Alex and
pyuric, the gossip girl. They had some nice pasta there.
I remember Alanis ever since I was a small boy and that Ironic video, with 4 versions of here fascinated me. The songs were quite good back then and she hasn’t lost it until now. She gained a little (cough) weight so you could spot her, no matter the distance. Very energetic girl, she really raised the crowd.
And finally, the whole reason I attended the show was
Mark Norman, a brilliant guy when it comes to trance music. I wasn’t expecting much, considering it was a silent disco and most of the guys there were non-advised when it came to trance. Danced my ass off for 2 straight hours while he played. We then had a chat and took some pics for the memory box.
All in all, a good evening with great music.
